To start this story here might be an odd place for those that know the whole story, but at the same time it shows the pain and anguish I've had to endure over the past few, nay several years. My oldest daughter is about to start going to public school, and she hasn't been home in almost 4 years.
I am about to start a new career thats going to bring in the money to make a home for us, but also to hopefully bring her home. However, the first few years I will be gone away alot. It'll be worth it, but extremely hard being away from my wife, our baby girl, and our boys.
My oldest daughter, as I mentioned, currently don't live with us. I've informed her legal gaurdians that I would be leaving for a few months for training and asked to see her and explain why daddy would not be able to visit her at the visitation/prison we are court ordered to meet at. *so much back story, to be filled in later
After several ignored texts and emails, I decided to do what any normal parent would do for their kid, grant their request. In this case, it was an invitation to come to church with her. I figured, church is a public and safe place still not an ideal place to visit, but I just wanted to see her for a few minutes.
Now, when I first walked through the door, I've never seen a girl so lonely and bored. It broke my heart. There were other girls around her, but she was isolated, or exiled, away from them. When she noticed me and her baby sister, she turned into the happiest person I had ever seen! She jumped up with joy to see her daddy and sister, telling her peers about us. We had 5 minutes of fun, dancing to music, before we were abruptly prompted to leave, the words "you're not allowed to be here" still echo in my head.
I didn't cause a scene, they already did that on their own, I just said bye to my oldest daughter, grabbed baby girl and the boys, and left. My wife exchanged words with an officer and a church member, both completely ignorant of the entire scenario and story.
We both left in tears.
I know for a fact not all christians act like this, but these people are truely different beasts.
